Pickleball TOURNAMENT Proshot March Madness

The Proshot Pickleball March Madness Tournament will take place from March 15-17, 2024 at the Proshot Pickleball facility in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. This annual tournament features singles, doubles and mixed doubles brackets across various skill levels from 3.0 to 4.5+ and age groups. Cash prizes will be awarded for the Open division events.

Entry Fee Costs

  • Registration Fee: $70 per player
  • Additional Event Fee: $10 per additional event ($40 for Open events)
  • Software Fees:
    • Non-refundable Pickleball Brackets Fee: $5 per event (max $10)
    • Stripe Processing Fees: Varies based on payment method

Refund Policy

  • Pickleball Brackets and Stripe fees are non-refundable
  • Players withdrawing before March 1, 2024 will be charged a $5 withdrawal fee
  • No refunds for withdrawals after March 1, 2024

Event Capacity

As a large indoor facility with 8 permanent pickleball courts, the venue can easily accommodate several hundred participants across the various skill levels and age groups. Registration is first come, first served.

Skill Level Brackets

Competitive divisions offered:

  • 3.0 Skill Level
  • 3.5 Skill Level

Players must compete in their assigned USA Pickleball skill level rating. You can play up a level, but not down.

Age Group Divisions

Age based divisions include:

  • 19+ Division: Ages 19-49 years old
  • 50+ Division: Ages 50 years and older

Tournament Match and Medal Round Format

The Pickleball March Madness Tournament utilizes a match format common in competitive pickleball tournaments.

Pool Play

Pool play has groups of 3-4 teams playing matches to determine seeding for medal rounds. Typically play 2 matches per pool.

Medal Rounds

The top 2 teams in each pool advance to a single elimination medal bracket. 1st place plays 2nd place from other pools, until the gold and bronze winners are determined.

Match Scoring

Match format is best 2 out of 3 games to 11 points, win by 1. The 3rd game is played to 15 points, win by 1.

Cash Prizes

Cash prizes will be awarded for Open Skill Level events:

FAQs

What type of balls will be used?

We will be using Onix Fuse Outdoor balls for this tournament. These are standard outdoor pickleballs approved for tournament play.

Will food & drinks be available for purchase at the facility?

Yes, we will have a small concession stand selling drinks, snacks, and light food options for players and spectators.

Is the tournament wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our facility is fully accessible. Please contact the Tournament Director if you require any special accommodations.

Do I have to wear tennis shoes or can I play barefoot?

For safety reasons, players must wear closed-toed athletic shoes while playing. Bare feet or open-toed shoes like flip flops are prohibited.

Can I register for multiple events across different skill levels?

Yes, you may register for events at different skill levels but not lower than your current rating in pickleball brackets.

Will paddles be available to borrow/rent if needed?

Unfortunately we do not have rental paddles available. All players must bring their own approved paddle.

Is there a place to store my belongings if I’m not playing?

We have limited storage space but encourage players to keep valuables with you or locked in your vehicle outside. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Will there be a trainer on-site in case of player injury?

We will have staff trained in basic first-aid, along with ice packs, wraps, etc. More serious injuries will be transported by EMS to the nearest hospital.

How are partners matched if registering without one?

Players without partners will be paired based on similar ratings/skill level by the Tournament Director on a first registered basis.

Will matches be livestreamed or recorded?

At this time we do not plan to record or livestream matches. Photo and videos from the event may be posted on our social media pages after the event with player permission.
